Core Commitment: CleanSweep: Phone Storage Clean is engineered as a 100% Offline-First utility application. We firmly believe your personal device storage is your private sanctuary. CleanSweep operates with zero cloud analytics, zero remote telemetry, zero account creation, and zero personal data collection. All file scanning and cleaning operations are executed strictly on your local hardware upon your explicit request.

1. Introduction

Welcome to CleanSweep: Phone Storage Clean ("CleanSweep", "we", "us", or "our"). We are deeply committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy details our operational architecture regarding user privacy, permission usage, and device storage access in strict adherence to Google Play Developer Program Policies (2026).

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

CleanSweep is architected with a zero-knowledge, zero-telemetry philosophy:

  • Zero Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, harvest, store, transmit, or sell any personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, physical address, contacts, or user accounts.
  • Zero Cloud / External Server Telemetry: CleanSweep operates entirely on your physical smartphone. We do not maintain any cloud databases, remote analytics servers, third-party diagnostic trackers, or logging APIs.
  • Zero File Uploads: All file scanning, duplicate identification, and junk cleaning happen locally on your smartphone using Android's native internal StatFs and MediaStore APIs. None of your files, photos, videos, audio, or documents are ever uploaded to any server.
  • No User Account or Registration: You do not need to register, sign in, or link any external credentials to use CleanSweep.

3. Permissions Used by CleanSweep

CleanSweep requests strictly the minimum permissions necessary to perform device storage scanning and optimization on Android:

MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All Files Access — Android 11+)

Purpose: To allow CleanSweep to identify empty directory trees, orphaned APKs, residual log cache, zero-byte ghost files, and duplicate media files across device storage to free up physical space.
Usage & Protection: All file checks, metadata reads, and deletions are executed 100% locally on your smartphone upon your explicit, manual command. No files or folder metadata are ever transmitted off your device.

PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Usage Access — Android 8.0+)

Purpose: Used strictly via Android's native StorageStatsManager API to calculate per-application cache footprints (such as accumulated social media and browser cache).
Usage & Protection: Enables users to identify heavy storage consumers and jump directly to native system settings to safely clear accumulated cache. No app usage habits, personal app history, screen time, or activity data are collected, monitored, or transmitted.

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO (Android 13+)

Purpose: To scan media partitions to detect duplicate photos, audio, videos, and temporary media cache.
Usage & Protection: Used solely for local calculation and visual presentation directly on the device display.

INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE

Purpose: Standard Android operating system network flags.
Offline-First Guarantee: CleanSweep is 100% offline-first and functions fully in Airplane Mode without any active internet, Wi-Fi, or cellular data connection.

4. Local Data Storage & Preferences

Any operational preferences (such as your session count, last scan timestamp, and total cleaned statistics counter) are stored locally on your device via encrypted, sub-millisecond local key-value storage (react-native-mmkv).

  • This data never leaves your device and is never synchronized to cloud servers.
  • You have complete sovereignty over this data: you can instantly wipe all local data at any time by clearing the app's cache/storage in your device Settings or by uninstalling the application.

5. Third-Party Services & Advertising

In its current release, CleanSweep does not serve third-party advertisements and does not include third-party tracking, profiling, or behavioral analytics SDKs (such as Facebook SDK, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Adjust).

If advertising or analytics services are integrated in future updates, this Privacy Policy will be revised to detail any advertising identifiers utilized (such as Google Advertising ID) and provide compliant opt-out mechanisms.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

CleanSweep is a utility cleaner designed for general audiences aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect or solicit any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take prompt action.

7. Security of Your Data

Because CleanSweep does not transmit or store your files, photos, or personal information on external servers, the risk of data compromise via external server breaches or unauthorized network interception is eliminated. Your data remains strictly on your personal hardware under your direct control.

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates, new Android OS requirements, or regulatory standards. Any modifications will be posted here on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
